Policy change for a better society
Millfield House Foundation funds policy work tackling the root causes of poverty and inequity in the North East of England. Through support for our Strategic Partners, and occasional other grants, the Foundation promotes policy change by funding organisations and work that inform discussion and influence public policy. We focus on underlying causes and take a relational approach to our grant-making.
The Trustees do not accept unsolicited grant applications.

Our strategic partners
We support a small number of strategic partners whose policy work addresses poverty and inequity. Funding is awarded for up to three years at a time and partners are actively encouraged to re-apply. We currently have five strategic partners Citizens’ Advice Newcastle, North East Child Poverty Commission, Tyne and Wear Citizens and Voluntary Organisations Network North East (VONNE).
Our strategic partners pursue policy-focused activities addressing the root causes of poverty and inequity and bring skills and expertise in regional policy work. Their work contributes to that of many other policy workers and campaigners in the North East.
