Getting to Know You grants

When Millfield House Foundation has had the capacity, Trustees have issued a time-limited invitation to North East organisation to apply for a Getting to Know You grant. In 2022, this invitation resulted in two years of funding for:

National Energy Action

This North-East based, national charity secured funding to develop the North East Fuel Poverty Alliance which brings together practitioners and policy makers across the region. It has also worked with Citizens Advice Newcastle to produce a report on Fuel Poverty in the North East.

Tyne and Wear Citizens

Funding in this period supported TWC’s community organising work around the Living Wage as well as members engagement in the 2024 Mayoral elections for the North East Combined Authority. In 2024 TWC were invited to become a Foundation strategic partner.

In 2024, a similar invitation resulted in two years funding for:

Difference North East

Difference is a campaigning and policy organisation representing, led by and employing disabled people across the North East. It aims to reduce discrimination, increase access and inclusion and work towards a more equal region. The Foundation is funding a part-time policy officer.
